Geocache Description:

30 June 2020, 12:15 - 12:45

I would love to attend more events but usually I have something else on and can't make it. This meeting is for all of you cachers who are too busy to go to events on weeknights or on weekends but who would still like to meet up with other cachers on a regular basis. My plan is to have a meeting every month and I'll keep it going if there is enough interest...

...or so said scavengermonkeys on his monthly "Working Stiff Lunch Meeting" cache pages starting October 2016. He's been encouraging many of us away from our offices or homes on a monthly basis for some much needed socializing ever since. It's an impressive streak and a much appreciated event for many of us who are often busy in the evenings. However, never one to brag, scavengermonkeys rarely speaks about his more impressive streak. Today (hopefully) will mark the completion of a TEN YEAR CACHING STREAK! Work and family committments, heat waves, illness, blizzards, international dateline travel, mosquito infestations, and the pre CARW dearth of new caches have not stopped him from going out and getting his hands on at least one cache every day for ten years. I am impressed with anyone able to do this for 365 days, 10 times that is just mind boggling to me. So come out and congratulate one of our local legends and maybe have a wee chat to him about taking Wednesday off.

We will be meeting outside in the middle of Churchill Square so that it will be easier to social distance. In case of poor weather, we will meet in the public seating area of the Citadel Theatre (marked as an additional waypoint). And in the unlikely case that the building is not accessible when the weatehr is poor, we shall meet under the overhang, just outside the doors of the alternate coordinates.

Please register for this event by logging your Will Attend with the number of people in your group.

Registration will be closed if/when attendance reaches 50.

No trackables please.

If you are feeling ill on the day of the event, please stay home.
