This series celebrates trees; specifically, the wide variety of trees indigenous to the United States. Different species of trees thrive in different regions based on climate, soil and elevation. The people of each state have chosen a tree as a symbol to represent their state. Texas, for example, is represented by the carya illinoinensis, or Pecan tree.
