"Ciao, sono Luigi e ho viaggiato indietro nel tempo. Sono arrivato nell'anno 1790, giusto?". Così si è presentato un simpatico ragazzo, che è partito dal anno 1820. Sembra che qualcosa sia andato storto! Invece di andare indietro di 30 anni, ha fatto un bel salto in avanti. Luigi ha una missione: Vuole salvare le 5 chiavi e il tesoro prima che i francesi arrivino nel 1796! Ma forse Luigi è fortunato e le chiavi ci sono ancora oggi? Vai con lui alla ricerca delle chiavi nascoste da un monaco. Sarete sorpresi come le chiese sono cambiate nel tempo!

- Visita i 5 posti indicati. Nel caso di questa Adventure puoi visitare le chiese nell'ordine da te preferito. Al momento non è possibile giocare l'Adventure offline, devi avere il GPS e i dati accesi.
- Quando sei vicino alle coordinate degli stage (40 metri), puoi cliccare su "rispondi" in alto a destra della descrizione dello stage. Si apre una finestra con la domanda e un campo per inserire la tua risposta.
- Con ogni risposta giusta ricevi un punto di ritrovamento su Geocaching, e ricevi un indizio per calcolare le coordinate finali.
- Attenzione, dopo l'ultima risposta l'Adventure si chiude automaticamente, devi riaprirla e controllare il diario per vedere l'ultimo indizio.
Questi lab ti mostrano la zona medievale di Ferrara. Tra andata e ritorno farai circa 5 chilometri a piedi. È possibile fare le lab con la carrozzina, ma il finale è difficilmente raggiungibile per disabili.
La storia dietro a questa cache:
Nel 1782 esistevano 103 chiese e monasteri a Ferrara. Numerose chiese esistono ancora oggi, alcune hanno ora un diverso utilizzo, e di alcune non c'è più traccia. Infilati nei vicoli stretti della Ferrara medievale e trova le chiavi per il tesoro bonus.
Stage 1 - San Nicolò
La chiesa fu elevata a Parrocchia nel 1183. Duca Ercole I cedde l'edificio ai Frati Agostiani e loro eressero la grandiosa abside. Per mancanza di fondi la ristrutturazione si fermò qui. Già nel 1667 sono state vendute tante ricchezze della chiesa (per finanziare la guerra della chiesa cattolica contro i Turchi), e l'occupazione francese diede il colpo di grazia alla chiesa. Oggi l'esterno della chiesa ha mantenuto le sue linee orginali, l'interno è stato completamente stravolto.
Stage 2 - San Giuliano
La chiesa fu parrocchia sin dall'anno 1278, ma è stata demolita nel 1385 per fare posto al fossato del castello. Nel 1405 fu riedificata ove si trova ora. Con l'arrivo dei francesi fu cessata l'attività ma la chiesa non è stata sconsacrata. Oggigiorno l'edificio è vuoto e ogni tanto, raramente, è visitabile, per esempio per il giorno dei Monumenti aperti.
Stage 3 - San Giacomo
Una scritta incisa all'altare conferma che questa chiesa era esistente già nel 1358, ma probabilmente è molto più vecchia. Fatto curioso la chiesa, rimasta all'interno del Ghetto ebraico costruito in Ferrara nel 1627, avrebbe dovuto essere abbattuta, ma è stata risparmiata per intercessione di molti fedeli. Oggigiorno l'edificio ospita una sala di un cinema.
Stage 4 - Santi Simone e Giuda
Questa chiesa era parrocchiale già nell'anno 1278. Con l'occupazione francese fu sconsacrata e ridotta a magazzino. Nel 1809 fu acquistata da un sacerdote e affidata alla confraternita dei Sacchi. Durante la prima guerra mondiale diventò un magazzino di nuovo. Ultimamente l'edificio è stato comprato da una banca.
Stage 5 - San Pietro
Forse questa è la parrocchiale più antica, attiva già prima dell'anno 1000. Nel 1811 la chiesa è stata chiusa al culto. Oggi è un cinema a luci rosse e quindi forse la chiesa con il cambiamento di uso più radicale ;-)
Final - ?????
Menzionata già nel 1256 e chiusa nel 1866. Ci sono pannelli sul posto che spiegano la storia dell'edificio.

- When you are less than 40 meters away, you can click on "Answer" next to the title of every stage. A screen with the question appears, please enter your answer there.
- With every correct answer, you'll get a Lab Cache find and a hint to finding the final cache.
- Attention, after logging the last lab cache successfully, the lab will automatically close. You have to open it again and check the journal entries to see also the last piece of information.
This Adventure Lab will show you the medieval part of Ferrara. It's a one-way-labcache, included returning to the car please calculate 5km. The labs are wheelchair friendly (although I doubt that the cobblestones of the medieval part are fun to deal with), the last meters to the final are unfortunately not wheelchair friendly.
Some history behind this cache:
In 1782 there were 103 churches and monasteries in Ferrara. Many of those churches still exist today, but some of them were deconsecrated and are used completely different today, and others have disappeared entirely. Lose yourself in the small alleys of the medieval Ferrara and find the keys for the bonus cache!
Stage 1 - San Nicolò
The church became a parish church in 1183. Duke Ercole I gave the church to the Augustian monks and they constructed the huge apsis. It was for a lack of money that the renovation stopped here. In 1667 some of the treasures of the church were sold to finance the war of the catholic church against the turkish. The french occupation did the rest. Nowadays the church still has its exteriour, but the inside has been changed completely.
Stage 2 - San Giuliano
This church has been a parish church since 1278. The original building was demolished in 1385 to construct the moat around the castle. In 1405 the church was rebuilt like you can see it today. With the arrival of the french the church stopped its activity, but it was not deconsecrated. Nowadays the building is empty and every now and then, rarely, it's open for visitors, like during the "open monuments"-days.
Stage 3 - San Giacomo
An encarved writing at the altar confirms that the church existed already in 1358, but probably it is much older. One curiosity: The church should have been demolished because it's located in the jewish ghetto of Ferrara which was set up in 1627. But many citizens protested and the church could stay where it was. Today, one of the halls of the nearby cinema is located in the church building.
Stage 4 - Santi Simone e Giuda
This church was a parish church already in 1278. With the french occupation it was deconsecrated and became a storage room. In 1809 a priest bought the building and let it use by the brothers of dei Sacchi. During the first world war, it became yet again a storage room. Recently a bank bought this building.
Stage 5 - San Pietro
This is maybe the oldest parish church of the city, active before 1000AD. The church was closed in 1811. Now it's a red light cinema and thus this is probably the church with the most drastic change of use in the city.
Final - ?????
Mentioned already in 1256, this church closed in 1866. There are information panels on site that will explain the history of the building.
