This cache is placed near the Bonnie House near Vandalia, Michigan. The house was built by James E. Bonine around 1845. Both he and his wife were stationmasters on the UGRR. The carriage house across the road was where freedom seekers were sheltered on the road to freedom.
The house is now run by the Underground Railroad Society of Cass County and is open to tour on some days.
