Geocache Description:

Buffalo Bill's Adventure

William Frederick Cody was an American soldier, bison hunter, and showman. He famously traveled throughout the country with Buffalo Bill's Wild West, his company, showing the rigor and mystery of the Old West.

A little known fact about Buffalo Bill was that while traveling through Owasso, he left a letter in local H.T. Richardson's lockbox under the condition that the contents were to never be viewed until "the time is right." Richardson refused to open the envelope despite the constant urging of locals before passing the contents of the lockbox on to his children.

In 1978, the envelope's seal was finally broken. Upon examination of the letter, eight distinct locations were described. Cody wrote that while in the area, he left eight containers to represent the eight men he regretted killing in the war. He wished that only future generations fifteen decades after the war could mourn these poor wandering spirits.

After examining the descriptions of the eight locations, coordinates were able to be accurately produced for all eight locations in 2015. Only now are they being released to the general public. Do you wish to pay your respects to these spirits and fulfill Buffalo Bill's last wish?
