This cache is part of the Rally Memories series hidden to honor the 10 awesome years of the Are You Geocacher Enough (AYGE) event and some of the key players that made it possible. Each cache was thoughtfully planned and placed to honor a specific year, or memorable cache from over the years of AYGE. You will be searching for ammo cans, no micros in the woods in this series, but some of them will likely surprise you!
You can do just one, but it may be more fun to run the Rally Route (pdf map book available here) from Roscommon to Higgins Lake and collect all 15 cans (shown on the map as a circle) as quickly as you can. Along the route you will pass by some notable caches (shown shown on the map as a square) we think you should also stop by and collect if you have not already. There was never a prize for returning to camp first, and there won’t be here either. However, we do hope you enjoy the caches, the back roads and trails of the area, and whatever company you decide to take on your journey.
About This Cache:
The Weasel clan liked to hide ammo cans in stick piles. The bigger the pile the better. Some years they were small, some downright gigantic. In honor of the contributions of the Weasel Clan (they are founding members of the think tank that dreamed up the AYGE event) this cache is hidden in something like a stick pile. Don’t worry, the pile is not 30’ long and 10’ high like at least one Rally cache was. We’re not that cruel.
Disclaimer: This cache is hidden in the woods of N. Michigan. While seeking it you may encounter any number of hazards, challenges, or unexpected things. Those could include ticks, thorny bushes, stinging insects, down trees, blocked trails, mud holes, and wild animals. Plan accordingly. It is a good idea to follow the ‘route’ planned for this series, but even that is not a guarantee of safety as conditions may change daily.
