Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are not for the actual cache.

While conducting a GIS survey on a recent job site in Rennes-le-Château in France, I recovered something I thought I'd share with my fellow Geocachers.

I was exploring the catacombs below the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene looking for Templar treasure when I stumbled upon a small niche in the wall. I found a small piece of crumbling parchment that was barely legible.

We carefully packaged the crumbling parchment and took it to the University of Bordeaux. There we visited the lab of world renowned parchment restorer Dr. Soren Labelle to see if we could make out the characters on this parchment since they were extremely faded. Using his patented Illudium Q-36 Infrared Parchment Modulator we were able to see what looked like puzzle pieces.

I sketched the puzzle pieces to the best of my ability and added the sketch to this cache page. Knowing this area was full of puzzle solvers I figured this would be the place to unveil it!
