South Germantown Recreational Park is one of Montgomery Parks’ most active parks. It’s frequently referred to simply as the SoccerPlex, but there’s much more than soccer to be found -- hiking, biking, archery, miniature golf, swimming, picnicking, baseball, softball, splashing, fishing … and geocaching! This short series will introduce you to some of the park’s highlights.
Complex ‘Plex 1 geocache is a lock ‘n lock sandwich container near a bike path that links South Germantown Park with a nearby neighborhood. It’s near a big playground, picnic shelter, and several baseball/softball fields (including one, Miracle Field, that accessible to ballplayers with mobility impairments). The ballfields are a great place to view Fourth of July fireworks when the park serves as host to a county display.
There are several parking lots in the vicinity (ballfields, picnic shelter, playground).
(Note that some of the park's parking lots may closed during COVID or for events but there are other nearby options. Or, park once and walk to several Complex 'Plex caches.)
