ITA_Il Castello di Legri
Il villaggio di Legri è spesso associato a tre luoghi: la Pieve, il Lago ed il Castello. Questa geocache è stata creata in modo da rappresentare quest'ulltimo monumento, che domina la Legri vecchia e nuova sulla cima della collina di Salenzano, completamente ricoperta di piante di ulivo. La sua costruzione è datata successiva a quella della Pieve di San Severo e, in particolare, fu fatto costruire proprio dallo stesso imperatore Federico Barbarossa, per poi passare nelle mani dei conti Guidi. La sua funzione sul territorio era quella di presidiare una delle vie di accesso dal Mugello alla piana di Firenze. All'interno dell'edificio si trova anche una famosa cappella cristiana. La poderosa torre, se non per una piccola opera di manutenzione e ristrutturazione, è rimasta inalterata dalla sua costruzione, nel Medioevo. Molto importanti e belli da notare sono i merli guelfi che circondano l'intero complesso. Infine, all'interno del salone principale del Castello, si teneva ogni anno una cena con le famiglie dei Legresi. E' comunque tuttora usato come location per festeggiare matrimoni e congressi.
E' possibile arrivare al castello seguendo via di Salenzano. Vicino alla cache c'è un parcheggino sterrato a sinistra della strada, davanti all'ingresso del castello, ma si consiglia di parcheggiare davanti alla fermata del bus della chiesa e salire a piedi, godendosi il panorama.
Dentro alla cache ho lasciato il logbook, le regole del Geocaching ed una monetina da 1 centesimo. Sentitevi liberi di lasciare altri gadget o Travel Bug!
ATTENZIONE: il Castello di Legri è una proprietà privata, quindi l'ingresso all'interno della proprietà E' SEVERAMENTE VIETATO!!!!

ENG_Legri Castle
The village of Legri is often associated with three places: the Parish Church, the Lake and the Castle. This geocache was placed to represent this last monument, overlooking Legri on the top of the Salenzano hill, which is completely covered with olive trees. Its construction is dated later than that of the Pieve di San Severo and, in particular, its was ordered to be built by Emperor Frederick I himself, then got into the property of the Guidi counts. Its task was to guard one of the access routes from Mugello to the plain of Florence, as well as control the local rural cultivations. Inside the building there is also a famous Christian chapel. The big tower, if not for a brief maintenance and renovation, has remained
unchanged by its construction during the MiddleAge. Very important and enjoyable to notice are the "Guelph" stone battlements that surround the entire complex. Finally, inside the main hall of the Castle, a dinner was held every year with the local families. It is however still used as a location to celebrate weddings and meetings.
Its possible to reach the castle by following Via di Salenzano. Next to the cache there's an umpaved parking on the left side of the road, in front of the castle entrance, but if you want you can just stop your car close to the Legri church and walk up there, enjoying the landscape.
Inside the cache i have left the logbook, the Geocaching rules and a 1 euro cent coin. Feel free to add gadgets or Bravel Bugs!
WARNING: the Castello di Legri is a private property, therefore the entrance inside the property IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN !!!!
