Rivertown Park provides plenty of parking and paved paths for walking and biking. This was a shared experience with cousins from Arkansas. We attempted the hide on Saturday June 27 but an afternoon thunderstorm forced us to leave. The second attempt serveral days later was a success despite a few claps of thunder in the distance.
Walk along the north trail towards the woods. You will eventually transition from a paved path to the bike trail. Walk over the bridge and follow the trail until you reach a canopy of large oaks. Continue on the path ahead. Make a left towards the river. Find the orange tree. It is about half a mile out from the parking lot. There are many picture opportunities. You can easily pick up another mile or two with all the switch backs carved out in the woods. Be mindful of bike traffic and watch for the snakes.
