This was our favorite hike that we did together a half-dozen times. Even his little corgi legs could make it up the first steep mile, and he was constantly looking back at me, motivating me to push through. Likewise, once we hit the rock scrambles, he would get nervous but I'd have to constantly reassure him and reinforce him there. We were great for eachother on this hike, and it's where I train for my annual Timanogas trail run.
No matter what other hike I took him on, he would seem indifferent, but anytime I let him out of the car, and he realized we were at the Guardsman Pass Overlook, he would get so excited that he'd start zooming around in circles, and start the trail before I even finished putting sunscreen on. If there's a place on Earth where his doggy-spirit hangs out, it's definately here.
I am from Orlando, Florida and have had this cache set up and ready for 10 years, after 14-year-old me was told its original placement near a swamp was rejected. Found the cache in a box while moving, and found a beautiful place for it. It was already named Indy's Cache from back then so I assumed this would be the most magical place for it.
