The North Canal Stanton Township Park, known locally as “Breakers”, is a great place to swim, listen to the waves and watch a great sunset. The sand is coarse stamp sands, providing proof of the copper mining history of the area. The first lighthouse shone here in 1874. The current lighthouse is from 1950. While many people like to walk on the breakwall, do this at your own risk and be aware that the mighty Superior can change her mind quickly and bring waves breaking over the wall.
The easiest access to the cache is by the 2 track by the bathhouse.
