“The Nailsea Round series is a trail of caches encompassing the Nailsea
Round footpath that surrounds the town. It is placed in three parts by
three geocachers: Daryl’s dad, Swanageboy and Team Mojo 100.”
Along this walk you will pass 49 caches in total, 29 Caches that are from stand alone or parts of other series plus 20 of The Nailsea Round cache Series .
Starting from layby at Wraxall House N 51 26.415 W 002 44.700 ,the Nailsea Round takes you to Wraxall, Tower House Woods and West End, Morgan’s Hill, Backwell Lake then back to Wraxall House via Backwell Bow.
Alternative parking at Engine Lane, Nailsea or Backwell Lake (time restrictions may be in place), Backwell Station car park (charges apply).
The Round is waymarked with distinctive waymarks.
The flat stones that you see around the Nailsea area are Pennant sand stone and it is found above coal fields. Most of the walls around the area and a lot of the older builddings are made from it. The Romans minned the stone in Nailsea and was last mined in Nowhere wood Nailsea in the 1930s.
