[EN] DESCRIPTION OF THE PLACE:
Procida is one of the Flegrean Islands off the coast of Naples in southern Italy. The island is between Cape Miseno and the island of Ischia. It is less than 4.1 square kilometres (1.6 sq mi). Its coastlines, very jagged, are 16 km (9.9 mi). The place you are is the higher point on the island. There is old castle and former prison Palazzo d'Avalos. Prison was closed not so long ago - in 90s of XX centaury. From many view points in the area you can easily see whole island. The islanders says that the shape of the island reminds the octopus. Also one of the resident of Procida told me the legend about this place. The story says, that the castle is the oldest place in the island and back in days, when the island was attacked by Turks or Arabians, St. Archangel Michael came and helped to rescue the island. The truth is that there is the church of the St. Archangel Michael nearbly.
HOW TO GET TO THE ISLAND:
To get to the island you need to take a ferry. The ferries are avaliable in Pozzuoli or in Naples. Also you can buy a tour ticket (e.g. Naples-Ischia-Procida). I attached the links to the websides of two ferry companies below. You can buy tickes online (highly recommended especially during summer) or in the harbour. Also you can take your car with you (extra costs), but for Procida (which is really small) I recommed to leave it on the parking in the harbour.

[IT] DESCRIZIONE DEL POSTO:
Procida è una delle isole Flegree al largo della costa di Napoli, nel sud Italia. L'isola si trova tra Capo Miseno e l'isola d'Ischia. È inferiore a 4,1 chilometri quadrati (1,6 miglia quadrate). Le sue coste, molto frastagliate, sono 16 km (9,9 mi). Il posto in cui ti trovi è il punto più alto dell'isola. C'è il vecchio castello e l'ex prigione Palazzo d'Avalos. La prigione è stata chiusa non molto tempo fa - negli anni '90 del XX secolo. Da molti punti di vista nell'area puoi facilmente vedere l'intera isola. Gli isolani affermano che la forma dell'isola ricorda il polpo. Anche uno dei residenti di Procida mi ha raccontato la leggenda di questo posto. La storia dice che il castello è il luogo più antico dell'isola e nei giorni precedenti, quando l'isola fu attaccata da turchi o arabi, San Arcangelo Michele venne e aiutò a salvare l'isola. La verità è che c'è quasi la chiesa dell'Arcangelo Michele.
COME ARRIVARE ALL'ISOLA:
Per raggiungere l'isola è necessario prendere un traghetto. I traghetti sono disponibili a Pozzuoli o a Napoli. Inoltre è possibile acquistare un biglietto del tour (ad esempio Napoli-Ischia-Procida). Ho allegato i collegamenti ai siti web di due compagnie di traghetti di seguito. È possibile acquistare le zecche online (altamente raccomandato soprattutto durante l'estate) o nel porto. Inoltre puoi portare la tua auto con te (costi extra), ma per Procida (che è davvero piccola) ho consigliato di lasciarla nel parcheggio del porto.
