You're standing along the northern fields... an area protected as "pollinator fields".
A pollinator is anything that helps carry pollen from the male part of the flower (stamen) to the female part of the same or another flower (stigma). The movement of pollen must occur for the the plant to become fertilized and produce fruits, seeds, and young plants. The most recognized pollinator is the bee... whether the european honey bee (famously kept in hives for their product), or any of the native solitary bees: mason bees, bumble bees, bee flies. Butterflies & moths, hummingbirds, wasps, and so many more also perform the tasks!
How many different types of pollinators can YOU identify in the fields?
