Geocache Description:

Welcome to Beech Hollow. The McQuaide family, who owned this land from the late 1790s until the 1920s, planted lines of beech trees to divide the property into field areas, or "rooms". The original homestead, which predates the existing house by generations, is believed to have been in this vicinity.

Find the giant Shagbark Hickory. Measure the circumference at a height of 12" above the large gnurl. Work out the age of the tree using the formula. Subtract the number 79 from the age of the tree. Travel that number of feet in a northern direction along the trail to locate the cache.
