Geocache Description:

This is one in a series of Doctor Who-themed caches.

TARDIS is an acronym for "Time And Relative Dimension In Space.” It is a fictional time machine and spacecraft that appears in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who and its various spin-offs.  The Doctor “borrowed” his TARDIS when he left his home planet of Gallifrey.   While other TARDISes have the ability to change their appearance in order to blend in with their surroundings, the Doctor's always resembles a police box because its chameleon circuit is broken. However, in the new series (since 2005), a perception filter is used to make the TARDIS blend in with the surroundings so that it is often ignored by passersby.  While the exterior is of limited size, the TARDIS is much bigger on the inside, containing an infinite number of rooms, corridors, and storage spaces including several squash courts, a pool, a library, and much more.  The main control room often changes with the rationalization of “redecorating” after the periodic regeneration of the Doctor.

Doctor Who has become so much a part of British popular culture that the shape of the police box has become associated with the TARDIS rather than with its real-world historical purpose.  You can even peek inside the TARDIS HERE on the street in London via Google Maps if you click on the street in front of the phone box!  Geocaching’s blog highlights a bucket list geocache for any Whovian, The Doctor is in (GC6YDR6).

Be wise and careful as you seek out the TARDIS, enjoy the trade items & please return as you find it for the next seeker!  Most of the time you will have privacy for your search.  EDIT:  The container would probably be considered "regular" in size now than the original due to issues upon replacement.
