Unnecessary Ridge is part of the divide between the Sheep Creek valley and the Columbia River valley. It's a key high point on the way to Old Glory, and found along the Seven Summits trail.
Park at the trailhead for Old Glory along Highway 3B. From there, make your way north along the trail and cross two seperate bridges. It is a steady steep uphill hike until you reach the ridge.
You can expect snow along the shady portions of this trail until early July.
