Durante la cuaranténa de COVID en 2020, que duraba ya mas que 5 meses en Sucre (y sigue), pasamos varias veces por la estacion del tejar. Algunas dias nos fuimos caminando por los rieles viejos hasta el Castillo de la Glorietta. Era nuestra forma de salir juntos con el perrito y escapar un poco de la casa.
La construcción del ferrocarríl Potosí–Sucre se inició en 1916. No encontré mucha información sobre el tramo Sucre y sus estaciónes.
En el año 1964 la ENFE (Empresa Nacional de Ferrocarriles del Estado) fue creada para administrar los ferrocarriles del FCAB y la Bolivian Railway Co.
Como consecuencia de la capitalizacíon de los ferrocarriles en 1994, la ENFE, dejó de ser operativa y prestar servicio público ferroviario, quedando como administradora de los bienes patrimoniales no afectados al servicio operativo ferroviario.
La linea del Tejar a Potosi con el ferrobus andaba hasta el año 2017. Siempre tienen planes de arreglar los rieles, pero cuando sea eso es otra pregunta.
During the COVID lockdown in 2020, which lasted more than 5 months in Sucre and continuing, we passed several times the TEJAR railway station. Some days we walked along the old rails to the Glorietta Castle. It was one of our ways to go out together with the little dog and escape a bit from the house.
The construction of the Potosi-Sucre railway started in 1916. I didn't find much information about the Sucre section and its stations.
In 1964 the ENFE (Empresa Nacional de Ferrocarriles del Estado) was created to manage the railroads of the FCAB and the Bolivian Railway Co.
As a result of the capitalization of the railways in 1994, ENFE ceased to operate and provide public service railways, remaining as the administrator of the assets not affected by the operational service rail.
The line from Tejar to Potosi with the ferrobus ran until 2017. They always have plans to fix the rails, but a different question is when this will occur.
