Mr Lamb was the best chemistry teacher ever. Now, there was a man who really knew the difference between chlorine and fluorine. He had distinctive mutton-chop sideburns and his catch phrase was "Chemistry has all the solutions!"
I remember the time when he was showing us what happened when you put a piece of sodium in water, and he ended up setting off the fire alarm. We all had to go and stand outside in the snowy playground until the fire brigade had given the all-clear. I bet he was popular with Mr Wooley the headmaster!
