Geocache Description:

I don't know how many times I've driven Hwy 50 to Delta, but for some reason I looked over at this hill today while driving by and I thought that point really ought to have a geocache. I got home and checked, and sure enough it was clear, so I came out this evening to set one.

The smart money to get to this cache is to park at the noted parking area (waypoint provided) and walk up the drainage gully that is directly across the road from the parking area until you're near the top, and then take a right. Your GPS will have you about 1,800 to 2,000 feet away when it's a good idea to turn out of the channel. Hiking up the channel is a terrific part of this cache. The various boulders, waterfalls, trees, and geological features are all great things to enjoy and appreciate. Then when you get to the top, the view is something to behold. My favorite caches are ones that take me to places I would not otherwise go, and I try to set ones that provide the same experience.

It’s about a 2-mile round trip with about 400 feet elevation gain. Some rock scrambling required, but not too bad. The best bet for this cache is to stay in the channel (or pretty close to it as you go around obstacles). It’s a beautiful hike, so take your time and enjoy the journey. It's a safe place to hike and explore, as long as you're careful!

The cache is a small container with just a log and some pencils. I am not a fan of remote caches that are hard to find, so I'm attaching a couple of spoiler pics to help. It's under a rock outcropping hidden by another rock. I'm so clever.

Congrats to kekj for the FTF. Especially for not following instructions, and surviving taking the path of certain doom!

The picture below shows the path I recommend from the Parking Waypoint to the Cache. Two cachers have taken a not-recommended path and didn't have a real fun time, so that's why I added the picture.
