Geocache Description:

15 August 2020, 17:00 - 17:30

Short Meet & Greet at Nymph Fountain (Strūklaka Nimfa)

Vader&zoon from The Netherlands are on a trip through the Baltics. We are always keen on meeting fellow cachers (local or visitors), swapping TB's and exchanging idea's and experiences. Therefore we will be organizing another Event, a short Meet & Greet. It will be held at Nymph Fountain  from 17.00-17:30 (or longer when we are having fun :-)

This decorative fountain consists of a statue (1887) of the sculptor Augustus Folc, placed in front of the Latvian National Opera. The Nimph holds a shell while four children are playing with fish, a dolphin and a turtle at her feet. The original was made of zinc, but due to erosion and wearing it had to be replaced in 1986 by a bronze copy of the sculptor M. Lukaža.

We can be found at one of the (hopefully available) benches around the fountain. Of course we will take Covid 19 into account and all participants of this Event will have to keep their distance to one another. We are looking forward to see who will be meeting us! Please bring your Trackables and Woodies!

We will bring some typical Dutch delicacies for you to taste: stroopwafels (see picture). Can you bring some of your own local delicacies for us to try in return? Would be great!
