Another in the BIRD series of caches.
The Purple Swamphen is a large water hen with distinct purple feathers and large scarlet bill and forehead shield.
Its call is high pitched rasping screeches.
They can be seen along edges of waterways and swamps. There is a resident group here at Glenbrook lagoon, and 3 were near the picnic area when the cache was placed.
After watching the Purple Swamphen near the picnic tables at the lagoon, head on the track up the slope, and take the trail on the right. Signal can be a bit jumpy, the hint should help. Please be careful as there may be slitheries in the warmer weather.
