Geocache Description:

The purpose of hiding this geocache in this remote location is to encourage travelers to hike around the rock and view its beauty from every angle. I would recommend going early in the morning at dawn so you can watch the sunrise in the peaceful morning hours. It's a lovely sight.

Be cautious because the path is rocky in some spots and could become unclear. Wear appropriate shoes for the hike. There are two ways to access the path: 1) If you are in the new town of Monemvasia you can enter the path from the left side at the foot of the mountain (it's next to the pizzeria). 2) If you're in the old town, walk towards the east, exit the east wall and head to the lighthouse. The path starts beyond the lighthouse. The first part includes walking on rocks, so be cautious and follow the red paint marks on beneath you. They'll accompany you throughout the entire journey. FOR BEGINNERS I RECOMMEND THE 2ND OPTION.

Whether you pick 1) or 2) at some point, near the edge of the rock, you'll come across an old abandoned structure with no description of its history. Inside, on the left side of its entrance there's a hollow in the rock, that's where the cache is hidden. It's a grey painted cannister, coated and sealed with wax. The first person to find it will have to break the seal. Log your name, take what you want from the little pouch that's inside and leave its content just like you found it. Hide the cache carefully in the hollow. Bring your own pen.

Enjoy the journey and be cautious.
