This series will contain 13 benchmarks set by Japanese Government in northen Taiwan
在測量學中，水準測量是非常重要的一環。台灣的水準測量源於1908，由陸軍臨時土地測量局設置了台灣第一條水準線。而後在三年內，整個台灣島的環島水準線就設置完成。但是，由於水準測量的需要，陸地測量部在基隆驗潮站設置了一個水準點，這就是台灣水準原點的雛形。這個水準點的特點是編號加上了「附」字，整個台灣只有高雄驗潮站的附十二號有相同的待遇。隨著時間遞嬗，國民政府來台後由於景物變遷之故，將水準原點移到了海門公園內，而後於民國102年又再次遷移到現址。
目前我們看到的石碑並不是真正的水準原點，真正的水準原點是以金屬標方式深埋於岩層中。不過這不影響這個地方作為台灣高度基準的重要地位。為了增加大家對水準點的了解，我出了一些題目，你必須回答以下問題來得到座標。
