With the Virus from Wuhan causing the total lockdown of our freedoms and forcing the cancelation of our Spring Trifecta of events, we have combined and rearranged things for the Fall Cache-In-Trash-Out event in Tatum, Texas. So, this is truly our 2nd attempt to have this event.
It's mighty hard to believe, but this will be our 8th Annual Tatum CITO Event.
We have spoken with the Tatum City Officials, and have their blessing for this event - provided we follow a few guidelines:
- We will be outdoors
- We will maintain proper social distance
- We will conduct temperature scans of attendees when they arrive
- Masks are optional
- We will have hand sanitizer available
The City of Tatum appreciates all those that participated last year, and more than welcome all that want to attend this year. Our city loves y'all! (That might not get you out of a speeding ticket, but it'll get you a trash bag and a bottle of water!)
What? 8th Annual Tatum CITO Event
When? September 19, 2020
Where? First Baptist Church (posted coordinates)
What Time? 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
What to Bring? Gloves & trash grabber
We will meet at the posted coordinates and begin our civic duty at 10:00 on that Saturday morning. We will take a group photo of all our trashy friends at 11:00. At that point everyone can rest, relax, or even go geocaching (there might be a few new geocaches popping up about this time) until the time of the Community Celebration Event Fish Fry happening next door to Action Automotive after noon.
Last year, we had over 55 people picking up trash. Let's see if we can get our attendance up to 60 this year. Please invite fellow cachers, muggles, aunts, uncles, young-uns, neighbors, and whoever else you can think of. Door prizes will be available to all those that log a "will attend" with a head-count of how many that will be in their party.
As usual, whoever is Found Traveling Farthest from their home coordinates will receive a special prize and get to claim the FTF accolades for the event. In the event of a tie, we'll make up some kind of tie-breaker.
