Diese Letterbox führt Euch auf dem Küstenwanderweg entlang von Spandowerhagen nach Freest. Die knapp 5 km lange Strecke ist als Rundkurs angelegt. Dabei müsst Ihr Euch von den Bildern leiten lassen. Unterwegs gibt es mehrere Stationen, an denen Ihr Fragen beantworten müsst. Mit Hilfe der richtigen Antworten lassen sich dann die Finalkoordinaten berechnen.
Es erwarten Euch genau 10 Fragen, und die Antworten sind jeweils 1-stellig. Wenn Ihr die Ziffern von 0 bis 9 genau einmal als Antwort gefunden habt, kann nichts mehr schiefgehen!
Im Cache befindet sich neben dem Logbuch noch ein Stempel mit Stempelkissen. Dies sind keine Tauschgegenstände, bitte im Cache lassen! Danke!
Auf genau dieser Strecke habe ich einen Labcache gelegt. Diese Letterbox ist als Alternative für diejenigen gedacht, die keine Möglichkeit und/oder Ausrüstung haben, einen Labcache zu absolvieren. Natürlich können die Caches auch zusammen gemacht werden.
Falls Ihr mit einem Cachemobil kommt, könnt Ihr das an den Parkkoordinaten abstellen. Dort gibt es auch Sitzbänke und eine Feuerstelle - für hinterher ;-)

This letterbox cache will lead you on the coastal path from Spandowerhagen to Freest. The roundtrip has a lenght of approx. 5 km. You have to follow the pictures provided in the listing. There are some stages on your way where you have to answer questions. The right answers will help you to calculate the final coordinates.
You will have to answer exactly 10 questions, and each answer will be 1 digit. If your answers consist of all 1 digit numbers from 0 to 9 everything will be fine!
Besides the log book the cache is equipped with a stamp and an ink pad. These items belong to the cache, they are no trade items! Thanks!
I've chosen the same route for my first lab cache. This letterbox cache should be an option for those of you who don't have the possibility and/or the equipment to do a lab cache. Of course you may play both caches at the same time.
If you arrive with a car you may leave it at the paring coordinates. There are also some benches available and a fireplace - for celebrating afterwards ;-)

Station 1 "Freesendorfer Wiesen"
Ihr befindet Euch beim Naturschutzgebiet "Freesendorfer Wiesen". Hier gibt es mehrere Informationsschilder zu sehen. Desweiteren hat man Ausblick auf die Rückseite des ehemaligen Kernkraftwerks.
Frage 1
Schaut Euch die Schilder genau an. Auf einem seht Ihr ein Bild mit Eiern in einem Vogelnest. Wieviele Eier befinden sich darin? Die Antwort ist A.
Frage 2
Ein anderes Schild hat einen Absatz über einen Querschnitt. Welche einstellige Nummer haben die Sandbänke? Diese Ziffer ist B.
Stage 1 "Freesendorfer Wiesen"
You are standing now at the nature protection area "Freesendorfer Wiesen". Here you will find several information boards. And you can take a look to the backside of a former nuclear power plant.
Question 1
Take a look at the boards. On one of them you will find a bird's nest with eggs in it. How many eggs do you count? The answer is A.
Question 2
Another board has a passage about a cross section (Querschnitt). What is the 1-digit number of Sandbänke? This number is B.
Startet Euren Weg über die Brücke. Das Wasser ist immer zur Linken. Dann kommt Ihr bald an dieser schönen Stelle vorbei. Hier steht ggf. Euer Cachemobil.

Station 2 "Sportboothafen Spandowerhagen"

Frage 3
Links neben der Hütte und der Bank seht Ihr zwei Boote auf einem kleinen Hügel. Auf einem Schild könnt Ihr etwas über die Geschichte dieser Boote nachlesen. U.A. findet Ihr den Namen des Bootsbauers Christian. Wie lautet sein Nachname? Die Anzahl der Buchstaben des Nachnamens gibt Euch C.
Stage 2 "Sportboothafen Spandowerhagen"

Question 3
On the left side of the bench you will see 2 boats on a small hill and a sign which tells a bit of the history of those boats. You will find the name of the boat builder, Christian. What is his last name? The amount of the letters of the last name will give you C.
Station 3 "Der Wetterhahn"
Der Pfad führt zwischen der rechten und der mittleren Hütte hindurch. Doch halt: Auf der mittleren Hütte befindet sich ein Wetterhahn. Bis auf die Tatsache, dass es sich gar nicht um einen Hahn handelt!
Frage 4
Was findet Ihr dort stattdessen? Nehmt den zweiten Buchstaben und wandelt ihn in eine Zahl um (A=1, B=2, ..., Z=26). Diese Zahl ist D.
Stage 3 "The weathercock"
The path continues between the right hut and the hut in the middle. This hut has a weathercock, apart from the fact that it is not a cock at all!
Question 4
If it's not a cock, what is it then? Take the second letter and convert it into a number (A=1, B=2, ..., Z=26). This number is D.

Station 4 "Ein Vogelhaus?"
Folgt dem Küstenpfad weiter Richtung Freest bis zu diesem Baum. Dort ist ein Vogelhaus angebracht. Ein Vogelhaus? Seltsam...ob das benutzt wird?
Frage 5
Was kommt normalerweise in dieses "Vogelhaus"? Nehmt den ersten Buchstaben und wandelt ihn in eine Zahl um (s.o.). Anschließend bildet die einstellige Quersumme davon. Diese einstellige Quersumme ist E.
Stage 4 "A birdhouse?"
Continue your way onto the coastal path to Freest until you see this tree. A birdhouse is fixed to it. A birdhouse? Strange... I'd like to know if it is really inhabited by birds.
Question 5
What would be normally put into this birdhouse? Take the first letter and convert it into a number, then build the 1-digit checksum. This checksum is E.
Station 5 "Holzschnitzerei"
Weiter geht es direkt zur nächsten Station. Achtet auf die Perspektive der Aufnahme! Da sind wir gerade schon vorbei! Also zurück und lasst Euch kurz auf der Bank nieder, um die nächste Frage zu beantworten.
Frage 6
Am Baum links im Bild seht Ihr eine Wegmarkierung. In diesen Baum ist jedoch auch etwas eingeschnitzt. Nehmt den ersten Buchstaben der Form und wandelt ihn in eine Zahl um. Diese Zahl ist F.
Stage 5 "Woodcarving"
Just follow the coastal path further into direction of Freest until the next stage. Take care to find the right point of view! If it looks like this you're already a few steps too far! So step back and sit down on the bench.
Question 6
You see that the tree which is on the left side of the picture has a marker. But that is not all. There is a carving, too! Take the first letter of the name of the shape and convert it into a number. This numer is F.

Station 6 "Die Bank"

Wenn Ihr soweit seid, ermittelt, bitte aus wievielen (Plastik-) Brettern die Sitzfläche besteht. Diese Zahl ist G.

Station 7 "Ein Baum"
Und weiter geht es. Haltet Ausschau nach diesem toten, ca. 1,20m hohen Baum auf der linken Seite. Hier kommt die nächste Frage.
Frage 8
Schaut Euch den Baum daneben an. Anhand der Blätter sollte es nicht allzu schwer sein, zu bestimmen, um welchen Baum es sich handelt. Nehmt den ersten Buchstaben des Namens und wandelt ihn in eine Zahl um. Diese Zahl ist H.
Stage 7 "A tree"
You continue your way and soon you will arrive at the next station. Look out for a dead tree on the left side, about 1.20 m high.
Question 8
What we need is the name of the tree next to it. I'm sure you will easily recognize the leaves. So take the second letter of the name and convert it into a number. This number is H.
Ihr folgt dem Pfad weiter. An dieser Stelle, kurz bevor es aus dem Wald heraus geht, könnt Ihr rechts einen kleinen Lost Place sehen.
Keep following the path. Here, just before you will exit the forest, you can see a little lost place to your right.
Vor Euch liegt der Campingplatz "Waldcamp Freest". Hier müsst Ihr rechts abbiegen. Ihr geht nun am Waldsaum entlang.

Station 8 "Letzte Schilder"
Endlich! Ihr habt die letzte Station erreicht. Leider gibt es hier nichts Spannendes, sodass hier Schilder herhalten müssen. Schaut Euch die Stelle rechts neben dem Bild an, dort findet Ihr zwei Schilder. Eins ist weiß mit rotem Rand, das darunter ist blau.
Frage 9
Beide Schilder haben eine Gemeinsamkeit: Die letzte Zahl. Sie lautet: 0,1? Ersetzt das ? durch die richtige Zahl, und Ihr erhaltet I.
Frage 10
Welche Ziffer kommt am meisten vor? Es ist egal, welches Schild Ihr betrachtet, oder ob Ihr beide zusammen nehmt. Die Antwort ist immer dieselbe, und diese Antwort ist J.
Finally! You've reached the last stage. Unfortunately I haven't found something special here, so you have to take a look at some signs. You will find two of them to the right side of the picture. One is white with a red border, and the sign below is blue.

Both signs have something in common: The last number! It is: 0,1? Replace the ? with the number on the sign, and you will get I.

And the very last question, promised! Which digit do you count most? It doesn't matter which sign you choose or if you look at both of them - the answer is always the same, and the answer is J.
