I've been enjoying another hobby that I am able to combine with Geocaching and Photography. It's Rockhounding with my prospecter friends Leigh and Margo. Our adventures commenced July 18th, 2020 while camping on the Bombi. I was driving and Margo was watching the GPS endeavoring to find one of a fellow cachers elusive wilderness caches. I discovered we were on the wrong road but found the scenery of where we did end up very enjoyable. So enjoyable that I had to share it with fellow 'mountain scenery enthusiasts'. The whole drive out to this valley is full of marvels of which I also marked so they would be found. As I find more, I will share those, also.
Little did we know how good a spot we'd picked for our weekend camping! Leigh found two sites within walking range to gather samples for assaying and Margo and I found a beautiful vista of other mountain ranges (Valhallas and the Norns) within a short trek from our campsite. We even found an abandoned mine shaft which looks like a hole in the ground plugged with rock and debris that is completely safe to walk around.
