CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES, BUT THAT'S WHERE YOU HAVE TO START!
Seriously - why are there not more "Night Caches"? When Mrs. RT and I started Caching back in 2015 we came across a couple of night caches, and we loved them so much we stared doing a TON of caching at night. We found most of the caches on Rib Mountain at night, flashlights in hand, well into November and December.
This one, like so many others, is just a trail of reflectors. Start at the posted coordinates, and bring a nice, bright flashlight. And because we all buy those cheap little mini-led flashlights and think they will last forever (they don't) bring a spare. Look for the orange dots, and away you go! There is a 'trail' the whole way. When you see white reflectors, you're at the location where you can find the cache.
The trail is a little over two tenths of a mile in each direction, and the only way out is the way you went in. (That's not completely true, but there's a lot of private land very close by, so stick to the trail please.) It's not really all that spooky, but you are VERY likely to hear large animals in the woods as you walk. Just assume you're hearing deer. That will keep the terror to a minumum.
Have fun!!
The cache is located in Rib Mountain State Park, and written permission has been obtained from the Park Property Manager, William H. Bursaw. Please observe park hours and do not attempt this cache if you cannot be out of the park by 11:00 pm.
