At this location you will find a staircase connecting two segments of N. Poplar Street in Ellensburg. It's a shortcut for some and a longcut for me, when I want a little longer walk or some exercise going uphill on my way to or from the University. Every staircase should have a secret. I've provided one with this cache, and I believe this staircase has hidden secrets before. Please make sure the cache is well hidden, all the way back, so that it is not visible to a casual (or not so casual) bystander.
Please have a mask if you are finding this cache during the COVID-19 pandemic. The trail lhere is narrow, and it is a kindness to others if they need to pass while you are looking for the cache. Stealth is required!
While this cache is available year round, the stairs and this pathway can get mighty icy and slippery in the wintertime. If it is iced over, make sure you have shoe traction and be very careful in approaching the cache.
Last, please replace this cache in the back back back of its hidey hole and cover with a few rocks; caches have been known to disappear from this location.
