The Pillars
Hunting for this cache will bring you to some of Hillcrest's hidden history in the southern portion of Allsopp Park. Near ground zero you will see a pillar of concrete towering above you. Depending on where you parked, you might've seen it's shorter twin. Back in 1906 a footbridge was built to span the ravine to allow residents to walk to the nearest trolley stop more quickly. After neglect, the bridge collapsed in 1932 leaving the concrete pillars alone in the sky.
While the cache is not located on the pillars, it is close by. The hike from either parking spot is around 7 minutes. This one was intended to be a challenge. No need to invade the chiggers' home and go bushwacking! Good luck on your hunt.
