Geocache Description:

Across the road from this geocache is Closebourne House.

It is a large two storeyed house of Georgian character.

Closebourne House was the second house built as a residence for Lieutenant Edward Charles Close (Senior) (12 March 1790 – 7 May 1866), a British soldier and a veteran of the Napoleonic Wars, engineer, New South Wales colonial magistrate,  and early European settler in Morpeth.

Close built Closebourne House around the late 1820’s.

Closebourne House became the residence of the Bishops of Newcastle from 1848 to 1912.

Nearby are picnic tables, a map of the town of Morpeth and some great views of the surrounding farms and the river.

The cache you are looking for is a 200ml Sistema container.
