With a road name like this, how can you not think of the majestic Monarch Butterfly. This gave me the idea of what I wanted to put here just off the Trans Canada Trail. After a little time crafting it's been placed and wouldn't you know, as I was placing it, a Monarch Butterfly decided to fly right by me!
Just for fun: Some Monarch Butterfly facts thanks to National Geographic!
- Monarchs smell with their antennae and taste with their feet
- Monarchs migrate up to 3,000 miles (4828 kilometers!)
- The Monarch butterflies only food source is milkweed, which is toxic to most animals
- A female Monarch lays between 300-500 eggs over a 2-5 week period (wow!)
*Just to note, it does look like there is a little ditch to cross. It is dry now but it may be a little more challenging in the springtime, I will reassess my ratings then!*
Congrats to Sharpeye468 & Phyzicist on the FTF!
