The Beautiful Monarch Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ShamrockDog: As we are in the process of moving out of the area, I’ve had to collect all of our geocaches that we’ve placed in the area. We will hopefully be putting them back out in our new location!

Geocache Description:

With a road name like this, how can you not think of the majestic Monarch Butterfly. This gave me the idea of what I wanted to put here just off the Trans Canada Trail. After a little time crafting it's been placed and wouldn't you know, as I was placing it, a Monarch Butterfly decided to fly right by me!

Just for fun: Some Monarch Butterfly facts thanks to National Geographic!

- Monarchs smell with their antennae and taste with their feet

- Monarchs migrate up to 3,000 miles (4828 kilometers!)

- The Monarch butterflies only food source is milkweed, which is toxic to most animals

- A female Monarch lays between 300-500 eggs over a 2-5 week period (wow!)

*Just to note, it does look like there is a little ditch to cross. It is dry now but it may be a little more challenging in the springtime, I will reassess my ratings then!*

Congrats to Sharpeye468 & Phyzicist on the FTF!
