THIS CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES
While hiking in Carolina North I found an area large enough to hide a whale…really a whale!
Like most letterboxes, you will need to follow some hopefully simple instructions to locate the final which is a plastic container suitable for small\medium sized trade items. This container was placed in the Fall (e.g. full leaf cover) so please let me know if my coordinates seem off or if you have any issues locating the starting point or the final!
The posted coordinates are meant to be the starting point for your journey and once there you should see a small oak with an odd “knee” below waist level. Facing away from the tree (bearing of 180 degrees) in the same direction as the “knee” is pointing, walk seventeen steps (e.g. each footfall counts) to your final location.
This is a letterbox hybrid geocache and letterboxing is a precursor of geocaching, using compass bearings or other clues to lead the seeker to the letterbox. The cache contains a logbook, stamp, and ink pad. If you wish, you may stamp your personal journal with the rubber stamp in the letterbox (cache); then you may stamp the logbook with your personal stamp if you have one - if you don't have a stamp, just sign the logbook. But, please be sure to leave the stamp, logbook, and ink pad in the container.
Congratulations to ncbiscuit for the FTF on this cache!
Happy caching!
