Every park needs a cache, especially this one with "Scavenger Hunt" depicted on the playground equipment! This newly developed park is the neighborhood park for the Parkside Estates housing development and is adjacent to the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. There's a trail that runs alongside the park where you will see informational signs about Native Plants, Local Wildlife, The Natural Water Treatment System and History of the Bolsa Chica Lowlands.
Please observe park hours - Open between 5 am until 10 pm. Log only. BYOP.
Starting at the Trailhead, walk down the path to the Native Plants sign and gather the following information.
- A = Number of paragraphs
- B = Number of plant communtities in the immediate vicinity
- C = Number of colored plant photos multiplied by 2
Continue on the path until you come to the mosaic artwork of birds and look at the side facing the street.
- D = On the middle panel, number of birds flying
- E = On all panels, total number of birds swimming
- F = On the middle panel, total number of birds
