Geocache Description:

Covered bridges are prolific in many locations and countries around the world.  The generally wooden, single lane bridges were designed to protect the structural integrity of earlier construction materials from weather.

Numerous at the beginning of the 20th century, covered bridges are very picturesque. These bridges are known as kissing or wishing bridges. Commonly held superstitions that to go quickly thru a covered bridge would create a standing wave that would cause the bridge to collapse. Therefore a law was passed to ensure all horses slowed their gait when crossing the bridge; many kisses stolen by the travelers on their wagons pulled by a horse.    Congrats to Cableguy for FTF.

The bridge spans the Cocagne River. Located near Irishtown, NB. Built in 1942. Length 41m (136')

Location: Route 2, Exit 459A-B, Route 115 north for 15.5 km (9.6 mi.), on to Poirier Office Road for 1.7 km (one mi.).
