Lodge Wood, a part of Avenue Wood behind the Menagerie Ponds, is usually a quite corner of the Temple Newsam estate. It escaped the ravages of the open cast mine that swept away much of Capability Brown’s landscaped gardens during the third quarter of the 20th century. It is criss-crossed with footpaths and tracks, ideal for a quiet walk even on busy days.
Sadly my original cache location became damaged and therefore unusable, so I have had to relocate the container. Now a small Tupperware clip box, the cache is hidden at the published co-ordinates.
Please replace carefully as found. Stealth required here as muggles can suddenly appear from any directions. Paths here can often be very muddy. Placed with kind permission of Temple Newsam Estate. Good luck.
