I am originally from the Boston area and created this series to spotlight the major league sports teams that I grew up on as a kid and that I continue to follow with my kids as an adult. Love them or hate them, my hope is that you might learn something new about each of these teams while getting out and about exploring the beautiful community of Anthem.
There are a total of seven caches in the series, and this Multicache is dedicated to Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox. Founded in 1901 and originally called the Boston Americans, the team name was changed to the Red Sox in 1908 when a uniform color change had the players wearing...well, red socks. They won the first ever World Series played in 1903, and as of the end of 2019 have won a total of 9 World Series championships, tied for 3rd most of any MLB team.
The Red Sox play at Fenway Park, the oldest and most iconic ballpark in baseball. Home to the Green Monster, Pesky Pole and “The Triangle”, the park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. Music plays a huge part of the culture at Fenway Park, including songs like “I’m Shipping Up to Boston”, “Dirty Water” to celebrate every home victory, and of the course the classic “Sweet Caroline” in the middle of every 8th inning.
As for the cache, this is a 3-stage multi contained within the Anthem Community Park. The first stage IS at the posted coordinates and will contain what you need to proceed. TOTT will be helpful. **All stages are in areas with high muggle activity, so use caution**
