I have just received permission to hide caches on the City of Olean Reservoir property.
Do not go into the fenced area, that is restricted and not necessary to attain any caches.
Again do not drive up the access road.

Also a big thanks to Mr Gerald Nenno who owns the land in the town of Olean bordering south of the city property.
They approved me placing caches there. Mr Nenno mentioned he does not have any no tresspassing signs and encourages hikers to explore the Mt Herman area.

There used to be an amusement park up there on the mountain back from 1966-69. There was also a narrow guage railroad for folks to view the mountain from the train. I only rode this once back in 1968.
The caches are within 100 ft of any road/trail. No major bushwacking needed. Most of the hides are either regular or small.
This particuar cache is hidden along the main road going to the city reservoir area.
This is the start of a rugged hike if you plan on doing the entire loop of 15 caches.
Elevation is from approx 1500 ft to 2175. so be prepared. Should take approx 3 hrs.
When my daughter was 5 yrs old she hiked up to the top with me and made it with no problems.
Not all the caches has a pen inside so bring a couple extras just in case.
There are some very scenic views along the way so dont forget a camera.

This cache is a small tupperware style container hidden under some stones. No need to climb down any embankments.
