This is a rural cemetery, located off the main highway. You are looking for a camo container.
Permission to hide this cache was granted by Mr. Straseske, president of Grove Prairie Cemetery Association.
For some background information, the intersection of Hwy 16-60 and old Cty J was known as Gibson's Corners. Up until about 10 yrs ago, there was a one room schoolhouse on the NW corner, cross ways from an old cheese factory. No doubt most of the Gibsons buried here attended that school. If you inspect the little white shed in the back of the Cemetery, you will notice that the sign says restrooms. Because the door latch was broken, I looked inside and only saw a cement floor. On the fence side of the building, there are 2 additional doors. That leads me to guess that this building was at one time the school's outhouse, as there would have been a girls side and a boys side. When the school was no longer used, in the 1960s, the little outhouse must have been moved and adapted to be a utility shed for the Cemetery. Sure wish someone would have saved that school, even though I remember it to have been in rough shape. Also note the tall Gibson monument near the front gate, with a death date in the 1870s, wow, the Gibsons have been here a long time.
