False Cape State Park is located in the southeast corner of Virginia on a barrier spit nestled between Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and North Carolina. Parking is available at the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center. It is part of what is often referred to as "Virginia's Outer Banks." Access to False Cape is obtained by hiking or bicycling through Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge or by boating across Back Bay. The terrain and difficulty are rated high due to the length of the hike/bike. I recommend bringing plenty of water, a snak, bug repellant, sunscreen, map, compass, cellphone and a sense of adventure.
Cache is in a highly sensitive area for nature and history as well. Please be respectful of the area, stick to the trails and NO BUSHWACKING.
This cache is a clear, medium sized clear Lock & Lock style container that will contain a logbook, pencil/sharpener and collector's card.
