Geocache Description:

Welcome to Moscow Mountain! Moscow Mountain is the highest point of the Palouse Range of the Clearwater Mountains. It is flanked on the west by East Twin, West Twin and Paradise Point. On the east, it is flanked be East Moscow Mountain. Locals sometimes refer to Moscow Mountain Peak as the "Main Mountain" while referring to the whole range as "Moscow Mountain" (confused yet). The headwaters of the South Fork of the Palouse River originate within Moscow Mountain. Moscow Mountain sits at 4,983 feet above sea level.

The Moscow Area Mountain Biking Association (MAMBA) is a non-profit that maintains 80 miles of trails on Moscow Mountain. Moscow Mountain is all privately owned. Landowners have given permission for hikers, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy this beautiful place so long as they stay on the designated trails. To learn more about the organization and all their trails, visit their website <click here> Or download the free TrailForks app to your phone for maps on the go.

Park at the posted coordinates for the Trail Landing parking lot. MAMBA has provided a portable toilet. PLEASE DO NOT PUT TRASH IN IT (such as plastic bags, bottles, cans etc.). The organization has stated that if trash in the portable toilet becomes an issue, they will have it removed. From the parking area, it is about a 1/4 mile hike to the cache.

This cache is a Letterbox Hybrid (LBH), which is both a Traditional cache and a Letterbox cache. If you treat this as a Traditional cache, then all you need to do is find the cache using the posted coordinates and sign the log book. If you treat this as a Letterbox cache (and you have brought your Letterboxing stamp with you), then you can add your stamp's imprint to the cache's log book and stamp this cache's stamp in your own log book. Or, as Letterboxers seem to do, you can treat this as both a Traditional and a Letterbox cache, i.e., trade stamp imprints, as well as sign the log book. Once stamped, put the stamp and ink pad back in the geocache.

Please do not take the stamp or ink pad!
