Jinmianshan is a beautiful mountain to the north of Taipei with rocky outcrops and great views of Taipei。 The terrain is more exciting than most of the mountains near Taipei， more boulders and rocks to climb over and not a lot of stairs。And fossils can be found at the area of Jinmianshan。
金面山位於台北市內湖區，是台北市北邊的美麗山峰，其獨特性是因為金面山的岩石中包含大量石英成分，山頂裸露岩層在太陽照射下會閃閃發亮，故名為金面山。步道後半段的路都是不固定的陡峭岩石面，可以說是初級攀岩路線，既富挑戰又可以欣賞到台北市的美景，近年來成為打卡熱點。
金面山是南緩北陡的單面山形貌，是地層受造山影響被擠壓抬升所形成的，金面山整個登山步道的地質跨越了兩個地層：五指山層及木山層。登山步道一開始是進入砂頁互層為主的木山層，而往上一直到山頂可以發現頁岩所佔的比例越來越少，開始出現厚層的粗砂至礫質砂岩的五指山層。這些抗風化的厚層砂岩也就讓金面山的單面山形貌更加突出、更加顯眼。在登山途中也可近距離觀察到砂岩上交錯層、生痕化石等特殊的地質景觀。
在寶點座標處你可以很容易找到下圖位置,圖片左側的岩石上有著明顯的生痕化石,而右側草叢下方似乎也有著地質景觀等待你去發掘？
