Geocache Description:

This cache is hiding in a beautiful spot at the mouth of the Puyallup River on the north-east side.  Park in the area located at the end of Steward St (E Milwaukee Waterway Rd) just after you pass under an old E 11tth St Bridge. Walk .65 miles following the trail next to the chain link fence all the way to the end where the cache is located. Superb views of Commencement Bay and beyond.

Looking to self-isolate during the Covid-19 Pandemic I started to remember parts of the Port of Tacoma I enjoyed as a kid. I grew up in Browns Point and attended Stadium High School, so I had to cross the Port of Tacoma daily. The day I turned 16 I got my drivers license two weeks later I bought my first car. (1974 Plymouth Scamp) So, like kids in my day did we went exploring every road in the city we could find. At that time, you could drive to this spot and many parties happened here. Today the Port has taken over the original road but there is still a trail to the mouth. Be respectable as this area is patrolled by Homeland Security (DHS), Port Police and Private Port Security on the other side of the fence.
