DE: Auf dem Gelände des ehemaligen Güterbahnhofs in Bad Cannstatt entstand das neue Wohn- und Gewerbegebiet NeckarPark. Ab 2021 sollen hier über 2.000 Menschen leben und arbeiten. Der ca. 9.000 qm große Quartierspark als sogenannte „Grüne Mitte“ wurde im Juli 2017 feierlich eröffnet. Der Park soll durch seine vielfältigen Angebote für jede Altersgruppe bestechen: Für ältere Kinder gibt es Zonen mit Slacklines, Trampolin, Hängematte und Tischtennisplatten, für die etwas Jüngeren Rutschen, Kletterhügel und Wasserspielbereiche.

EN: The new NeckarPark residential and commercial area was built on the site of the former freight station in Bad Cannstatt. From 2021, more than 2,000 people should live and work here. DE: Das erste fertiggestellte Gebäude, welches für die Öffentlichkeit nutzbar war, war das Sportbad NeckarPark. Dank modernster Technik ist es quasi klimaneutral und für den landesweiten Wettbewerb zugelassen. Leider sind die Öffnungszeiten für normale Besucher sehr stark durch Vereine eingeschränkt. DE: Die Pläne für das Gebiet sind groß. Ich persönlich bin gespannt, ob dieses Projekt etwas wird. Wenn ja, wäre das Areal eine Möglichkeit für Menschen, zusammenzukommen, eine Gemeinschaft zu bilden und ein echtes Beispiel dafür, wie moderne Technologie mit den menschlichen Bedürfnissen verbunden werden kann. Wenn nein, wäre das ein finanzielles Desaster, ähnlich wie Stuttgart 21 (S21), für das wir leider international bekannt sind.
