Where: Along the mangroves.
Meeting point: Dave Culham Drive Monument
Well its that time again and I would like to ask as many of you to come and assist us with this clean up.
Meeting point: The bend in the metal driveway down by the Mangroves near GZ. You will see the F.O.R.C.E. tralier and our new event flag.
The Area: Along the edge of the grass and in the Mangroves all the way along to Te Matau A Pohe bridge and to the other side if we have time.
After interuption from Covid-19 and then the big flood we are glad to be back out cleaning up Whangārei.
The Mangroves catch a whole lot of the rubbish that washes down river, down the drains, gets thrown overboard, and blows in the wind.
There is unknown types of rubbish, debris and who knows what along the mangrove edge and down into the mud. Gumboots would be a good idea but not essential if you stick to the top edge. We have lots of gloves, buckets and a few grabbers to help you out as well as brand new High Vis jackets so we can see all the volunteers.
There is unknown types of rubbish, debris and who knows what along the mangrove edge so if you have a good pair of gloves, bring them, otherwise I will have a fair amount of disposable ones to be able to use.
