Geocache Description:

It will help you to read the DESCRIPTION below, just once, for this series.

MOLLIE is the third cache in this series which is a tribute to my first Westie ANGUS and each cache is named after one of his friends.   MOLLIE came to live with ANGUS and MAGGIE when Angus was ten.  The two bonded closely and Mollie was Angus's shadow.

DESCRIPTION.  This is a series of caches to encourage the fabulous riverside walk, along the Mersey River and parallel to River Road, between Latrobe and Ambleside [Devonport] in Tasmania's beautiful central north.  With plenty of parking at the Latrobe end in the area of the Axeman's Hall of Fame, this is a dog friendly walk especially as there is no wildlife to speak of hence no being pulled frantically into the bush by GeoDog.  There are a number of unrelated caches prior to the beginning of this series as well as a number on Pig Island which is a fabulous dog off leash area on the other side of the river via a footbridge.  The caches are a mix of bison tubes, mint tins and 200ml systema containers and one 400mil container. They are all quite near the walking track with no need for bush bashing. RHS's abnd LHS's are applicable when walking from Latrobe to Ambleside.  As the challenge is to eventually complete the entire series, I have not made them especially tricky.

The challenge is to walk this track but several caches are available from the adjacent and parallel road.  CAUTION.  This is a busy and winding road and care should be taken to only park totally off road.
