In the spring of 2020, The Village of Waunakee (with the help of many contributors) unveiled 4 historical Kiosks. Each kiosk depicts a different development of village life – early settlement, agriculture, the role of the military and contributions of veterans, and commerce and transportation. 3 of the 4 kiosks are located on the walking path behind the Waunakee Public Library, and one is located at the Waunakee Area Chamber of Commerce.
Find this cache, which overlooks the American Legion Post 360, and you'll get to see the M60A3, a descendant of the M47 and M48 Patton tanks, which was the first American tank to be given the designation "Main Battle Tank". This tank was donated to the American Legion Post 360 by the Wisconsin National Guard, 1st BN 632D Armor. Next, take a stroll down the path and check out the other kiosks and learn about some more of Waunakee's history.
