In 2018, the Village of Waunakee partnered with Dane Arts Mural Arts once again to educate residents about stormwater pollution through art. Large colorful storm drain murals were painted on the storm drains that flow into our local Six Mile Creek. This cache takes you to the Waunakee High School storm drain mural on the corner of 8th Street and School Drive. The other two unique works of art are located on the corner of Mill Road and Woodland Drive, and on the corner of South Street and Main Street. See if you can find them all!
While you're at it, take a walk around to the front of the High School and check out the interactive sculpture that was placed in 2019. Thanks to the extensive collaboration between Artist Michael Kalish, the Waunakee Public Art Committee, local art instructors, and more importantly, our Waunakee area students, the sculpture is meant to celebrate Waunakee's excellence in education.
