A chapel, post box and red phone box in close proximity? Should this be a Church Micro or Fine Pair? Sadly neither - the chapel is disused, and therefore cannot be included in the Church Micro lists, and the phone box and post box are too far apart to meet the Fine Pair rules. This doesn't prevent a cache being placed here though...

Cwm Maethlon chapel
The road through Cwm Maethlon, or Happy Valley to use its English name, is a scenic route between Tywyn and Cwrt near Machynlleth, bypassing Aberdyfi. Although shorter in distance, it is about the same journey time as it is a narrow road with passing places. There are some good walks from various places on the road, up on to Tarren Hendre, or going the other way to Llyn Barfog and down to Aberdyfi. It is also a good road for cycling, especially heading towards Tywyn, as although there is a short steep section uphill, that is followed by about 5 miles mainly downhill to the coast.
The cache
To find the cache, you will need to find two numbers. Both these numbers are visible from the road - it is not necessary to enter the church premises, which is private property.
The first number is on a memorial next to the roadside at the given coordinates, to a local head teacher who died in tragic circumstances. How old was he when he died? (AB)
Now look at the telegraph pole next to the phone box. It has a number on it (immediately below DP). The number is CDE.
The cache can be found at N52° 34.0AB W004 01.(C+2)(D+3)(E-4)
You are looking for a small box.
